Discovering I had OCD - (My Journey part 2)

Discovering I had OCD - We had arrived in Malta where we needed to board a ferry to Gozo. This short trip again caused a few more anxiety attacks which became a normal experience. As I traveled around Gozo and visited friends I was not enjoying this trip or any other trip I had experienced in the past due to the anxiety
I was experiencing.
One morning I woke up and went outside and had a look out toward the Ocean and observed the ferry coming into the harbor. Guess what? I started to OCD about catching the ferry back when we had to leave from our holiday and sure enough I had another anxiety attack but this time it was a big attack and I fell to my knees and started crying because of the pain and my body not being able to cope anymore with anymore attacks.
My Journey Finding a solution to OCD involved myself and mum to find a Doctor to visit and I ended up seeing about 6 Doctors. One was a new Doctor and he told me there was nothing wrong with me another wanted me to go to a hospital in Germany and the charade continued. My Nana found about what happened to me and suggested for me to speak to her Doctor. After 10 minutes I was diagnosed with OCD and relief came across me because now I had a name for something that I struggled with for a long time and it was this moment in time I was discovering I had OCD.
I was prescribed Anafranil and after two weeks things started to improve and I started to feel different. The feeling I started to feel was what I now today as feeling normal and it took me a good 6 months to get used to feeling normal 24/7 something that had not happened for a very long time.
When we arrived back into Australia I went and seen my Doctor who kept me on this medication for a good 8 months where at one point I was taking about 6 pills per day. The only downfall with taking this medication was that it made me gain weight however my mental health was more important. After taking this medication my battle with OCD was over and I ended up being the winner with all OCD symptoms gone . For once I could think about whatever I wanted to do without causing OCD or anxiety attacks - Source: My Journey Finding a solution to OCD
